🛒 Ingredients
For the chicken patties:
400g organic ground chicken
1 organic egg
1 small courgette (zucchini), finely grated and squeezed
1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
½ tsp sweet paprika
½ tsp dried oregano
A pinch of dried rosemary
Sea salt and pepper to taste (skip salt for babies under 12 months)
Optional: 1 tbsp breadcrumbs or oat flour if the mixture is too wet
For the avocado hummus:
1 ripe avocado
3 tbsp cooked chickpeas
Juice of ½ lemon
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp tahini (optional)
A pinch of cumin (optional)
Salt to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the patties
In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken, egg, grated courgette, herbs, and spices.
Combine everything well. If the mixture is too soft, add breadcrumbs or oat flour to bind.
Shape into small patties using your hands (great size for toddlers to hold!).
2. Cook
Pan method: Heat a non-stick pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
Oven method: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place patties on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
3. Make the avocado hummus
In a blender or mini food processor, blend all the ingredients until creamy. Adjust seasoning and lemon to taste.
4. Serve & enjoy!
Serve warm patties with a spoonful of avo-hummus, steamed veggies, or a side of grains like quinoa or brown rice.
For toddlers, cut the patties into small strips and serve with the hummus for dipping – a perfect finger food!
