SNACK SMOOTHIEBREAKFAST

7/11/20261 min read

If you're looking for a creamy, chocolatey smoothie without using cocoa powder, this recipe might become your new favourite.

Carob powder is one of the most underrated pantry staples. Naturally sweet, caffeine-free and rich in flavour, it's a wonderful alternative to cocoa—especially for younger children or anyone who prefers to avoid caffeine.

Combined with Greek yogurt, banana, peanut butter and nutrient-dense seeds, this smoothie becomes a balanced breakfast or post-workout snack that's both satisfying and nourishing.

Ingredients

  • 1 (or more) ripe banana

  • Plain Greek yogurt

  • 1–2 Medjool dates

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts

  • 1 tbsp carob powder

  • Water or milk of choice, as needed

  • walnuts & almonds

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender.

  2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

  3. Adjust the consistency with a little extra water or milk if needed.

  4. Pour into your favourite glass and enjoy immediately.

Why choose carob powder?

Unlike cocoa, carob powder is naturally caffeine-free and has a mild, naturally sweet flavour that many children love.

It's a fantastic ingredient to keep in your pantry if you're looking to create nourishing breakfasts and snacks with simple Mediterranean ingredients.
